OFFSITE BACKUPS

We will install a piece of software on your device(s). One of our techs can work with you at time of setup to determine which files you would like to have backed up. Depending on the size of the files, we will either allow the initial "Full Backup" to be transferred over the internet or we may elect to perform a “Seed Backup”, depending on the amount of data you have. 

A seed backup consists of backing up the data to an external hard drive and then we transfer the data by connecting the hard drive directly to the storage server thus allowing us to move the data without the speed issues of the internet. 

Next, we schedule nightly “incremental backups” to occur. This checks each file that is being backed up and transfers only the updated files to our cloud storage. 

For example, if you have 100 files on your PC and you edit 2, it will only backup the 2 that you have edited to the server instead of spending time and resources to backup 98 files that have not changed. 

We can schedule the backups to happen as often as you would like. We normally recommend a nightly incremental backup; however, a continuous data protection is also available where your files are backed up in real time as you make changes.

We can set our software to backup as little or as much as you would like. 

This is a file level backup, which will not backup program files; however, we can back up the data files associated with the Program Files. The ability to do a full system level backup is available if requested.

This is entirely dependent on the number of files that have been selected for backup and the internet speed at your location. It may take as little as 5 mins or multiple hours.

The backup software has a built‐in monitoring system which will send you daily logs and error notification to a predetermined email address. We also periodically check in on all of the systems to ensure that they are functioning properly.
