What Is TEK FGC?

 An FGC, or Fighting Game Community, is a group of individuals who are enthusiastic about playing and competing in fighting video games. Members of the FGC often come together at tournaments and events to exhibit their skills, build connections, and engage with others who have a similar passion for fighting games. The FGC is recognized for its inclusive and supportive environment, as well as its commitment to the competitive aspect of fighting games.

There is a $5 venue fee for everyone who attends (players and spectators) to help cover some of the FGC costs, such as games and equipment. Additionally, each tournament requires a $5 entry fee to compete, which is divided among the top three winners. Our noon games change monthly and are free to participate in.

Unlike most events like these, we provide all the necessary equipment! You're welcome to bring your own controller if you prefer, but we also have some available to use. Since this is a PC-only tournament, we support PlayStation, Xbox, and custom controllers.

We understand that playing in every event can make for a long day. While we have snacks and drinks available for purchase, you’re welcome to bring your own. There are also several fast food restaurants and dollar stores nearby if you’d like to step out for a meal or snack. We just ask that you’re careful and clean up after yourself, since this is our company’s office.

It's a common misconception that video games are only meant for children. In reality, people of all ages enjoy playing video games, and the diversity of players in the TEK FGC reflects this. Many individuals who were first introduced to video games in the 80s and 90s continue to play and enjoy them today. The passion for gaming transcends age boundaries, and it's great to see a mix of young adults and older players coming together to compete and have fun in the FGC events sponsored by TEK.

Children are indeed welcome to attend TEK FGC events as both spectators and competitors, as long as they are accompanied by a legal guardian if they are under 17 years of age. However, it is important to note that the games featured in the events can be aggressive in nature due to their fighting theme, and some competitors may engage in "trash talk." It's essential for parents and guardians to be aware of these aspects and ensure that the environment is suitable for their child's participation.
